Back to Bull Frog
Selecting a good camping spot
for the house boat is part of the Lake Powell enjoyment. Sending out
scouts with a smaller boat is also part of the fun. A good captain of a
50' boat still needs lots of room to maneuver. There were interesting
visitors at this camp site. We say
Ringtail Cats,
Turkey Vultures,
and alone with all types of lizards, Kodi saw a
Chuckwalla.
Kris ran into a
Rattle Snake.
Just south of Seven Mile Canyon there is a great spot to park the house boat. There are hiking, good swimming, and fun fishing holes. There are hikers at the very top of this ridge in the center of this photo. Specks however. We had many visitors. We use a cantaloupe to feed several Ringtail Cats. The Ringtail Cats loved the cantaloupe. Turkey Vultures with one with his wings spread in the middle of the photo.. A Chuckwalla lizard came for a visit. Kris just about stepped on this Rattle Snake. The sunsets were always different. Our house boat on this trip was a 44 foot boat. Just right for the six of us. Perry and Kodi had their bass boat along for the fishing fun. Chuck and Jerry getting ready to go fishing in Chuck's boat. We used the small boats for the fishing and the site seeing fun. Another fishing excursion. Front deck of the house boat. Kris investigating the area. Nights on Lake Powell is the best time for Catfishing. Enjoying the meals, company, and relaxation. Night fishing of the back of the boat with a lantern.
