Back to Wood Working
Perry is working on a bakers rack for Kodi. The stock pine material
came from her Dad's old horse carrels. Some of the stock, after
milled down, turned out to be a clear grain fur, some thirty years old.
The milled stock below is for the upper back panel. The project will be
stained with antique pine GEL and outside exposed surfaces will be a dark green
GEL with distress marking to simulate aging.
Bakers Rack
Plan
Most of the display is family air looms. Kodi has the Bakers Rack decorated nicely. We move the bakers rack from the shop in Placerville to our home in Boise. The barn wood came for Kodi's dad's corral. The 2 x 6 stock is planned down for the re-saw bandsaw. The re-saw bandsaw will salvage a 3/4" and a 3/8" stock. They finished stock can then milled for components. A biscuit jointer does the job for laminating panel stock. I am using a GEL stain and finish. They are stained as parts because of the multi-colors. Saturday, August 17th, I finished the top cabinet. This is before I had the crown molding on the cabinet. The crown molding was finished and the top light installed. This is the bottom of the Bakers Rack cabinet without the door, drawers, and base molding.
Most of the display is family air looms.
