Stairs and Loft

Project History 2006
The inside work of finishing the stairs, electrical wiring,
plumbing, security system, fire place, satellite system, and heating system, was
started in December. The cabin was now closed in with an insulated lid and
the metal roof was complete. Matt and Allen put in the wood stove
that Forest gave to us as construction heat. It was needed because the
weather turned very cold and wet. It was close to 16 below zero for a week before a
warm spell dumped snow and rain the entire week between Christmas and New
Years.
The week between Christmas we finished the loft beams. Kodi sanded and painted the beams and stairs. The 3" X 12" treads turned out wonderful. Kodi plans to protect the wood treads with rug strips. Matt worked on the front deck while Perry worked on the electrical wiring. The decks were a great addition and made the building really look like a cabin. January 22,2006 Matt worked on the stair post and railing. The weekend of January 22, 2006 Troy help Perry install the wiring for the security system. The railing for the stairs will be 3" log pole pint material. We are going to use 1" metal balusters. The stairs are looking really nice. Forrest delivered the 1" EMT that was powder coated for the balusters. Matt worked on the balusters. They are looking really good.
