Project History 2004

Back to Project History

We did have high hopes for starting the cabin this summer.   Perry finished with the final plans for the cabin and has the material list.   Perry built a horse shoe pit for the July 2004 Darys and Clella Ekker family reunion.  August 1, 2004, we did start taking down some of the trees and clearing the lower dead branches.  Clay spent the weekend and helped on the trees.  We even took time out to ride bikes and tool in the show at the Starlight Theater.

In October, we had a logger remove about 100 trees from the property.  We burned and cleaned up the slash piles so we can be ready to start the construction of the cabin in the spring.

The mother was protective of the little one in the nest.

Perry is starting to build the kitchen cabinets for the cabin.

The carcass is melineen with white metal recessed shelf hangers.

The stiles and rails are going to be a different style cabinet.

Perry started on the first kitchen cabinet.

The frames were a trial run to finalize on the stain and finish.

The knotty alter doors will be a different design than normal styles and rails.
